Ballistite

 

Ballistite is a propellant that is made from the two high explosives, nitrocellulose and nitroglycerine. It was invented and manufactured by Alfred Nobel in 1887. Ballistite was used as an alternative to black powder rifles, which had many problems. Today, Ballistite is most commonly used as a rocket propellent.
